Elliott Paul

His Story

The above photo is of Elliott and his wife from a couple years ago at Palumbos during a fund raiser for the Mario Lanza Institute.

Elliott was graduated from Temple University in 1970, SCAT. According to the 1990 Temple University Alumni Directory, he was Data Processing Systems Supervisor for the Bucks County Courier Times, 8400 Route 13, Levittown, PA 19057 and living in Yardley, PA.

A posting on our message board from Elliott Paul....I also read with sorrow the plans to tear down Thomas Hall, my home away from home at Temple before we moved across the street. My memories are vivid such as the day comic B.S. Pully visited us at the station for an interview and proceeded to have us in stitches, especially when he said "F--K him" as Professor Blenheim walked by. Or remembering that Merrill Reese, the voice of the Eagles on radio, had his name carved in cement at the top of the steps leading to the Thomas Hall studios. Or the World War II surplus stickers still inside some of the desk drawers in the studios. If the powers at Temple seriously believe destroying tradition will bring an increase in enrollment they should check with the alumni who write the checks every year. I for one would not feel as generous.

An e-mail from Elliott Paul to Gerry Wilkinson....My wife's name is Lynda. We've been married 23 years. I have three sons. Howard is 21 and a junior at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University in Daytona Beach, Florida studying Engineering Physics. Jason is 14 and in the eight grade. Erik is 12 and in the fifth grade. I've attached a recent photo taken in November at the Daytona Beach Airport during a recent parent's weekend at Howard's school.

I've been with Calkins Newspapers for 23 years. I also worked here part time during my time at Temple. I'm the Data Processing Systems Supervisor here. Where I'm responsible for installing, training and troubleshooting our systems. I train our news, advertising, accounting and circulation personnel. I also work on our web page.
