Several years ago, our WRTI Old Gang buddy, Ed Cunningham wrote and produced a television program for WHYY-TV, Channel 12. It was called, "THINGS THAT AREN'T THERE ANYMORE." The next year, he did a follow-up called "MORE THINGS..." The following six photos were used on the program.

These photos were of Studio B, the old American Bandstand studio. The picture on the left dates from 1953 during a Bandstand broadcast. The host at that time was Bob Horn. On the right, the same studio 35 years years later. These facilities were originally built for WFIL-TV (now WPVI-TV).

In the mid 60's, WFIL completed their new building on City Line Avenue. The owner of WFIL, the Philadelphia Inquirer and Walter Annenberg, gave the old set-up to WHYY-TV. On the left, Channel 12 workmen remove the Studio B door to be sent to Hollywood for a museum. On the right, the old WFIL-TV slide (circa 1958) used for station identification.

On the left, the Uptown Theater, just a couple blocks north of Temple University's campus. The photo dates from about 1965. On the right, a publicity still from the late 50's of WCAU-TV newsman, John Facenda.
