His Story

The following is an e-mail from Rick Torpey to Gerry Wilkinson....I don't know if I qualify for 'RTI's "Old Gang" listing or not, but I just met Bob Backman, and he said I should check out the web site.

My name is Rick Torpey, and I was on the air at WRTI from 1/87-7/89 when I got a job with a comercial station in New Jersey. In my time at 'RTI I went from doing overnights to doing the midday shift Mon-Fri as 'Chief Music Announcer'

I recently left Greater Media radio the week after Ed left 'MMR.

I still live in center city.

I've been in radio advertising sales here in the Philadelphia market for about six years now. Married, kids, dogs, cats the usual. How much more bio would you like? I don't want to bore anyone.

According to the Fall 1998 issue of Tempo Magazine, the quarterly publication of WRTI, Rick is its Sales and Marketing Manager.
