: Here at Ed Cunningham's computer at TV 12. Found this article about WRTI and their half classical format in the Philadelphia Inquirer.

Hi all.

Interesting discussion about classical music's 'inroads' into WRTI-FM's jazz format. I was in Cherry Hill at a business meeting recently and, for yuks, turned to 90.1 expecting the kind of creative, eccentric stuff we had fun doing and learned from. (Never use a preposition to end a sentence with. That is something up with which I will not put). It was BORING.

While 'RTI has introduced the classics into its schedule, New York lost one of its finest stations as WNCN suddenly one midnight with no advanced warning shifted to rock, changed its call letters and fired the entire on air staff. The New York Times station, WQXR is very good, but 'NCN had a better 'personality'.

Interesting note on the Mercer Community College station..not being receivable in much of Philadelphia. A recent New York Times article indicated that, thanks to a translator, you can get the station in Steamboat Springs, Colorado!

Best to all
