I ran into Bob Backman yesterday and he told me of the strong sentiment
that was felt as the
Old Gang toured the Thomas Hall facilities that once
housed WRTI. I'm sorry I missed the
visit. The pictures that have been
posted bring back thousands of memories of the years that
were spent there.
When the building is scheduled for tear-down, maybe we should go there
the
day the wrecking ball arrives and grab a piece of history, like they took
the seats out
of Connie Mack Stadium.
I wonder if the wiring is still in the floor or walls. If we can get
just
the right equipment hooked up to an old piece of wire, we might just hear:
" ....with
studios in Thomas Hall and the transmitter site located in
Conwell Hall on the campus of
Temple University....." After all, those old
electrons have to go somewhere.....
