Gary's e-mail reminds us all that there is not one opinion, but many. Each and every one is a correct one from that person's perspective and deserves our total respect. While I disagree with much of what Gary says, I also agree with much. It's not going to be me that says, his opinion is wrong. He may be right. One thing I have learned from doing my research is that there is no easy answer and probably more than one that is correct. In searching for information, I have learned that the truth is not always easy to find and not usually what you expect.

To me, it seems that the truth is out there. Some people feel that the creator of the jazz format is a hero. Others feel he's a villian. In truth, he is probably neither. Until this site started, there was no real history for WRTI. Now there is. The truth never changes but the information on our pages do. Since we were schooled by J. Douglas Perry, we know the truth is paramount. Good, bad or indifferent...The truth will always be the truth.

As I research for this site, I constantly have to revise what I have written. Not because I have it incorrect (though sometimes I may), but because different news stories gives us different answers for the same question. Eventually all the pieces fall into place.

I pledge that I will update our pages with corrected information when found. There is not much wrong with correctly reporting incorrect information. The only sin is letting the incorrectness stand.

Sometimes "half a pie" gives a totally different picture than a "whole pie." I search for the truth. If I don't like what I find, it will still be reported because "the truth is the truth."

E-mails like Gary's are important to helping us find the truth.

Wouldn't you think that whomever created this jazz format, would still think it was a good thing and be proud to say so. Everybody (except John Roberts) seems to have forgotten how things fell into place. Anyone with any information, please forward it to me. If you don't wish your name used, that's okay, but please tell me.

Help us find the truth.

Gerry Wilkinson
