In addition to clicking translation from the search page, there is a
general service that Alta Vista provides called Babelfish which will do
translations of any web page if you plug in the URL, or any copy if you
type it in or cut-and-paste it in. I have used it for foreign langauage
web pages and it provides a rough translation, but usually good enough
for you to understand what they really mean. They only do four or five
languages, but there are some programs you can buy for only about $50
that can do 25 or 30. I am looking at getting a deluxe program that
includes talking, and is about $150. It includes Russian, which is the
one that is the most important to me besides German.
